ART for HIV-infected pregnant women who need treatment for their own health

In pregnant women with confirmed HIV serostatus, initiation of antiretroviral therapy for her own health is recommended for all HIV-infected pregnant women with CD4 cell count ≤350 cells/mm, irrespective of WHO clinical staging; and for all HIV-infected pregnant women in WHO clinical stage 3 or 4, irrespective of CD4 cell count.

HIV-infected pregnant women in need of ART for their own health should start ART irrespective of gestational age and continue throughout pregnancy, delivery and thereafter...
