Founder of African Women’s Health Foundation


{Fellow in Fetal Medicine (Fetal Medicine Foundation FMF London), DMAS, MRCOG, PhD O&G, Ordinatura (Specialist O&G), VRACH (MBBS)}.


Dr. Abbey accomplished his medical carrier in Russia, Nigeria and the United Kingdom. Having accomplished his primary and postgraduate medical education in Russia under the Federal Government of Nigerian Scholarship (Bureau for external aid for education), he moved on to the United Kingdom where he added more qualifications and knowledge to his arsenal of educational certificates. So he has witnessed the practice of medicine in three different worlds - Africa, Eastern Europe and Western Europe.

Dr. Abbey has worked as an obstetrician and gynaecologist for the past 20 years. He spent the last 15 years working in the UK, where he has taken care of thousands of pregnant women. Notably, he worked as a Senior Registrar in Cambridge University Teaching Hospital, University of Sheffield Teaching Hospital and Guy’s and St Thomas Hospital in London. He accomplished two-years subspecialty training in Fetal Medicine at the reputable Harris Birthright Research Centre for Fetal Medicine within King’s College Hospital, London where he was awarded ‘’Fellow of the Fetal Medicine Foundation.’’

Dr. Abbey is the founder and director of two UK-based organizations - MGA Medical Services and an NGO ‘’African Women’s Health Foundation’’ both of which, among other things, specialize in the provision of information for pregnant women. He is presently working as an independent medical practitioner in the UK and a lecturer in obstetrics and gynaecology, College of Health sciences, University of Port-Harcourt, Rivers State, Niger Delta, Nigeria.
